ORGANIZATIONS

Amazon Frontlines is a non-profit organization that is defending indigenous rights to land, life and cultural survival in the Amazon rainforest. This organization came to life in 2011 by asking leaders and elders of Kofan, Secoya, Siona and Warorani peoples in the Ecuadorian Amazon this very question:

How can we – people raised in the cities of western civilization – best support the struggles of indigenous peoples?

Their answer was simple, yet deep and understandable:

“Our water has been poisoned,” they said. “WATER IS LIFE. We must defend life.”

Amazon Frontlines is comprised of an international group of human rights lawyers, environmental activists, forestry specialists, environmental health scientists, filmmakers, journalists, anthropologists, and farmers. They all live and work in the western Amazon.

Their mission is to support the struggles of indigenous peoples to defend their rights to land, life and cultural survival in the Amazon Rainforest.

These are the reasons we are proud to donate a portion of our profits to Amazon Frontlines.

Plastic is after all a redundant product, we use it for the most unnecessary things. Everything from single use packaging, to micro-plastic in household cloths.

The earth is drowning in plastic and it takes the nature a long time to decompose this.

Plastic Change is a Danish organization whom with their motto “single use sucks”, works through research, documentation, information, education and campaigns to attract focus on our huge plastic problem.

Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (SSCS) is an international non-profit radical animal protection organization that protects the marine mammals and fish. Sea Shepherd uses direct actions to reveal and confront actions at sea that they consider to be illegal or unreasonable. The intention is to protect and preserve maritime ecosystems and animal species. The organization was established in 1977 by Paul Watson, a founding member of Greenpeace who chose to leave Greenpeace when they worked too politically, and Watson believed that direct action was the way forward in the environmental fight. At SimonHolst.com, we have chosen to donate a portion of our profits to Sea Shepherd as we recognize their efforts against whaling, dolphins and seal hunting.

The orangutan is critically threatened along with other species, due to the rainforest disappearing in a high speed. That causes a big threat to the biodiversity and the climate.

Save the Orangutan, safes wild orangutans whose home have been destroyed. They rehabilitate orangutan orphans, without their help they would most likely not survive or take part in illegal trading.

How to support Save the orangutan

In collaboration with Save the Orangutan we have designed a poster, which purpose is to enlighten and tell people about the perks of the forests. Everytime we sell this poster, we’re donating half of the money to Save the orangutan. Find the poster here.
